Calgary Tritons Swim Meet Bond - $150 per family

We host The Calgary Tritons Invitational Swim Meet on July 12, 2025 at the Seton YMCA. Support from all our swimming families is required for this meet. In order to offset the Tritons Swim Meet Bond of $150 families are required to volunteer two shifts at the meet.

Sign-up for volunteer positions for the Tritons Meet will be available once the swim season has started.

If you are unable to attend the Tritons Meet, you are required to contact our President Natalie Lau to make alternative arrangements to work off this bond. Families who choose not to volunteer for the meet will have their Swim Meet Bond cheque cashed. Families who are away and have not made alternative arrangements to volunteer will have their Swim Meet Bond cheque cashed. The responsibility lies with the family and not the Swim Club to make alternative arrangements.

This bond may also be held against swimmer “no show” for meets. Any swimmer who fails to show at a meet for which they are registered will be liable to reimburse the Club for the meet entry fee of that meet ($35), unless a medical/acceptable reason has been provided to the Head Coach or Executive. This amount will be held against the Swim Meet Bond or parents can choose to pay this directly to the club.

Volunteer and Level I Officials Bond - $150 per family

Our swim club relies of the strength of our parent volunteers for operations throughout the year. We rely on families to assist with various aspects of Club activities and obligations.

Swim Meet Level 1 Officials

Swim Meets do not happen without the assistance and dedication of up to 100 volunteers per meet. At every swim meet there are many roles to be filled. Every club is required to provide officials and volunteers at each swim meet.

If your family currently has no Officials Certification then you must have at least one family member that is Level I Certified by the end of the season. If a family has a Level I certification, they are encouraged to obtain a Level 2 certification as there is always a need for experienced officials.

Other volunteer opportunities

For the 2025 Season, each family will need to earn 5 points (ending with the annual AGM in September). Accumulating the required points can be easily attained by attending the parents meeting, AGM and volunteering for three 4-hour shifts during the season. Please refer to Volunteer/Officiating Point system document found on the Resources Page for complete details of program requirements. Failing to comply with the season obligation would incur a fine of $30/point of obligation not met.

Casino Bond - $300 per family

The Calgary Tritons is a not-for-profit organization; casinos are important to enable us to keep our registration costs low as they can provide between $50K-$80K funding to the club. If the club cannot provide enough volunteers to run a casino, we will lose our allocation and any subsequent funding.

The casino is mandatory for all families registered with the club. A casino bond of $300 per family is held to guarantee casino volunteer attendance. This will be cashed only if your family does not volunteer for a shift.

Our next casino date is still to be assigned. Further information about the date and shift sign-up will be communicated by our Casino Coordinator via TeamSnap when it is available. Family participation is an obligation, even if you are not planning to return to the club next year.

I agree that I will take on a volunteer role at the 2025-26 casino assigned to the Calgary Tritons.I understand that if I do not provide a volunteer to be available for my casino shift, regardless of whether my swimmer is returning to the club the next year or not, my casino bond cheque of $300 will be cashed by the Tritons.
